A Night at the Movies: SummerDance Student Showcase
August 7, 2025 | 6:00 PM | Rosendale Theatre
Pay-What-You-Can Admission (Suggested: $15)
The Vanaver Caravan is proud to present the SummerDance Student Showcase, an original live performance celebrating the work of young dancers and musicians from the 2026 SummerDance Intensive. This one-night-only event will take place on Friday, August 7 at 6:00 PM at the Rosendale Theatre. Admission is pay-what-you-can, with a suggested donation of $15.
Each year, the SummerDance Student Showcase is built around a brand-new theme, conceived and directed by Brian Lawton in collaboration with The Vanaver Caravan’s faculty. Last year’s audience favorite, A Night at the Movies, transformed the stage through cinematic storytelling, movement, and music. This summer, we can’t wait to see what Brian dreams up next.
Directed by Brian Lawton, the showcase is a dynamic, full-length performance that brings together choreography, music, and theatrical elements created during the two-week SummerDance Intensive. The evening reflects the creativity, curiosity, and collaborative spirit of the program, inviting audiences into a world shaped entirely by student artistry.
This curated performance marks the culmination of The Vanaver Caravan’s SummerDance Intensive, held at Lifebridge Sanctuary in Rosendale. Open to students ages 9 through teens, the program offers immersive training in world dance styles, contemporary forms, and theater within a supportive, community-centered learning environment.
Visual design and theatrical elements will weave throughout the performance, transforming the Rosendale Theatre stage into a fully imagined world unique to this year’s showcase.
