About This Production
An exhilarating celebration of rhythm, culture, and connection, EarthBeat brings the world’s traditions to life through the powerful language of dance and music. This vibrant program highlights the rich cultural heritage of the United States and many global traditions, offering students a dynamic opportunity to explore the diverse roots of folk dance and music—while inspiring reflection on their own ancestral stories.
The theme, “Rhythms of the Earth,” pulses throughout the performance. Each piece is rooted in traditional movement and music, featuring live accompaniment on authentic folk instruments, and reimagined through contemporary interpretations that honor their origins.
More than just a performance, EarthBeat is a tribute to the people—past and present—who have shared their cultures with us. Every dance and every song is a gesture of gratitude to our teachers, elders, and tradition-bearers who passed down these living legacies.
