March Swing Series with Brian Lawton
Join The Vanaver Caravan this March for a rare and delightful Swing Dance Series led by the one and only Brian Lawton. With a rich background in ballet, jazz, modern, Latin, and ballroom dance, Brian specializes in vernacular jazz dances from the 1920s to the 1940s. His impressive career includes performances on "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel," "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon", "Saturday Night Live", "the Blues Clues Movie", along with collaborations with the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Brian is not only an accomplished dancer, he is also a wonderful teacher--bringing his wit, enthusiasm and a cool calm energy that makes everyone in the room feel at ease. Important Arrival & Parking Info
🚗 Drive Slowly when entering the property.
🅿️ Park in the grass lot on your left, just past the red barn.
🚶 Walk approximately 100 feet up the driveway. The studio is the next house on the left, above the garage.
🔇 Be mindful of noise when entering and exiting, as the studio is connected to a private residence.
Space & Potential Venue Change
Our current studio space is limited. If interest in the class exceeds capacity, we may opt to move to a larger location to accommodate more dancers. We will notify all registered participants as soon as possible if there is a venue change. Thank you in advance for your enthusiasm and flexibility!
What to Expect
Each class will focus on vernacular jazz dances from the 1920s–1940s, with techniques that will improve your rhythm, style, and confidence on the dance floor.
Whether you're a beginner or an experienced dancer, Brian will guide you through the fundamentals while introducing fun and engaging choreography.
Wear comfortable clothing and bring flat, smooth-soled shoes (like dance sneakers or leather-bottomed shoes) to help with movement.
