WHAT IS BELTANE?
Beltane has been a Hudson Valley springtime staple for 30 years! Traditionally a large annual outdoor festival and fundraiser for the Center for Symbolic Studies (the nonprofit branch of Stone Mountain Farm), the Beltane Pageant is a performance of myth, magic, and giant puppetry, which uses dance as a story-telling tool. Think of it as part Renaissance faire, part picnic gala, part dance recital. Event-attendees are encouraged to don their most delightful renn-faire garb!
Each year, the festival-goers are graced by the Fairy Court, the Flying Dragon, Old Man Winter, and the Green Man as a new King and Queen of May are crowned! Our dancers perform as elemental spirits, fairies, gnomes, and magical creatures, weaving a wondrous tale for the audience.
Beltane 2021 will be a more intimate event than in previous years. Maximum capacity is 200--tickets are first come, first serve so register now. Stone Mountain Farm is taking social distancing measures very seriously. Before arriving at the event, you will need to fill out a COVID-19 health screening form. We ask that all of our dancers and family members adhere strictly to Stone Mountain Farm’s safety guidelines and COVID-19 protocols. Temperatures will be taken as you arrive. Please maintain 6 ft distance. Participants are still asked to wear masks as an added precaution, to help keep everyone in our community safe and healthy--physically, mentally, and emotionally.
EVENT TICKETS & MEMBERSHIPS
This year, all our dancers and family members must also register for Beltane via their Eventbrite link. This counts as your event RSVP and helps us all keep track of who is planning to attend.
Event entry is donation-based. We strongly encourage our dance friends and families to purchase memberships to Stone Mountain Farm this year. A membership enables you and your family to visit the grounds all year long, gain access to the camping areas, enjoy free parking anytime you visit outside of dance classes (which is always free), and gain access to special events like outdoor movie nights, flying lessons, art shows, and more!
