SummerDance On Tour
SummerDance on Tour is a three week workshop which engages students in a wide variety of dance forms and styles that expand their perceptions and vocabulary in the world of dance, while also piquing their performance skills. Classes are for all levels, and include subjects such as Modern, Percussive, Swing, World, Improvisation, Choreography, Site Specific, Theater, Ballet, and more.
During the third and final week and weekend, SDOT students perform at venues and historic sites throughout the region.
Past SummerDance on Tour performance venues include:
- The United Nations Youth Delegates Assembly
- The Bon Oduri Festival in New Paltz, NY
- Opus 40 in Saugerties
- The Battery Downtown Dance Festival in Manhattan
- P.S. 21 in Chatham, NY
We strongly suggest registering for the full session as SDoT is designed as a comprehensive three week program. Each week-long session offers different dance materials and performance opportunities that, when combined, provide the dancer with a truly well-rounded dance training experience.
SDoT workshop is held at Stone Mountain Farm, in New York’s historic mid-Hudson Valley. Nestled in the ancient Shawangunk Mountains, our classes are conducted at the Center’s main hilltop covered outdoor stage and indoor movement studio. Each year, our students look forward to dancing in this picturesque setting.
Please register early as SummerDance on Tour tends to fill up quickly. As with all of its classes, The Vanaver Caravan promotes a community atmosphere among its students and faculty while fostering a deep love of dance and self-expression.

Caravan Kids Summer Workshop
CaravanKids Summer Workshop, held at Stone Mountain Farm, introduces children to the wonderful world of dance! But CK Week is so much more than just a dance program - it's a full week of adventure, movement, art, imagination, and creativity.
During the morning sessions, Caravan Kids are gently guided through a series of creative movement & beginner modern lessons, folk music & tales, and multi-cultural dance traditions. The end of the week culminates in a dance sharing presentation and potluck with all the Caravan Kid families.
The afternoon sessions are for exploration! Students engage in intricate (and often very messy) arts-and-crafts projects, cooperative outdoor games, nature hikes and magical scavenger hunts through the fields and trails of the Stone Mountain Farm. (Every year, we meet a fairy!)
Drawing from the talent and imagination of each child, CK week builds a group of trusting, adventurous, and gifted kids who learn to celebrate the endless joys of dance, music and childhood.
